Our Staff

At Zell Associates, Inc. we believe that what sets us apart, and what we are most proud of, is our staff’s dedication to acheive excellence. Our five Property Managers have an average of 15 years of service and our six support personnel have been with us for an average of 10 years. We believe this speaks volumes about our team approach, commitment to each other and most importantly our commitment to you our valued client. We also know that this long term stability and continuity translates into providing you with the most experienced and knowledgeable Property Management you can find.

Sherman Zell, President
Sherman graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in electrical engineering and took a position with IBM as an engineering project manager. After a successful career at IBM, Sherman then entered the real estate field by opening Zell Associates, Inc. in 1974. Since that time, Sherman has been committed to providing professional and quality property management and real estate services with honesty, integrity and the philosophy that the investment goals of our clients are always paramount.

Sherman has been certified in Santa Clara County’s Federal Bankruptcy Court as an expert in residential income property and has acted as a Court Appointed Receiver for major financial institutions as well as private investors and also holds a California Real Estate Broker’s License, DRE# 00797395.

Robert R. Edelstein, Vice President
Robert heads the Property Management Department and has been employed with Zell Associates, Inc. since 1989. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Jose State University, Robert worked in facilities maintenance for 9 years and completed the HVAC program at San Jose City College. He obtained his California Real Estate License as well as a Certified Real Estate Appraiser Designation and sold Real Estate for 5 years before coming to Zell Associates, Inc. Robert has extensive experience managing single-family homes, apartment buildings and commercial properties. He also holds a California Real Estate Broker’s License.

Jeffrey Zell, Vice President
Jeff joined Zell Associates, Inc. as the VP of Marketing/Sales after a successful 15 year career as an IT solutions provider for high-tech startups in Silicon Valley. Jeff graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Jose State University and followed it up with an MBA from Santa Clara University. By leveraging his technical talents, education, and business experience, Jeff has transformed Zell Associates, Inc. into the technology and marketing leader in property management.

Marie Jasinsky, Director, Single Family Home Division
Marie has been with Zell Associates, Inc. since 1992 and is the Director of our Single Family Home Division. She is also one of our property managers for Northern Santa Clara Valley. Marie has extensive experience managing residential real estate, both apartment complexes and single family homes, and serves as an on-site resident building manager for properties as large as 145 units. She studied advertising and marketing at San Jose State University and also holds a California Real Estate Agent’s License.

Ryan Jasinsky, Single Family Home Division
Ryan has been working with Zell Associates, Inc. since 2004 and began his career as a leasing agent for a 145-unit apartment complex in Mt. View. Ryan specializes in the management of single family homes and is also the on-site manager for a 112 unit apartment complex in Campbell. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of California San Diego and currently holds a California Real Estate Agent’s license.

Lisa M. Felix, Director, Commercial Property Management Division
Lisa has been with Zell Associates, Inc. since 2005 and currently manages small to medium-size apartment complexes and single family homes. She runs our Commercial Property Management Division and also heads our Eviction Services and our Landlord-Tenant Relations Departments. Lisa received her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California Davis and currently holds a California Real Estate Agent’s license.

Teresa Underwood, Controller
Teresa has been with Zell Associates, Inc. since 1996 and serves as our company’s Controller. Teresa also has extensive experience as an on-site manager for medium to large apartment complexes and has been a Property Manager for medium-size apartment buildings and single family homes. Teresa received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Mary’s College and also holds a California Real Estate Agent’s license.
